Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 heets frozen pastry dough
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 6 mini hot dogs
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (210°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Beat the egg with a pinch of salt to make an egg wash, and set it aside.
  2. Thaw the frozen pastry dough at room temperature for 3 to 5 minutes to make it easier to handle. Cut the dough into 6 equal portions. Place one hot dog on each piece of pastry dough, wrap it up, and pinch the edges to seal. Cut each wrapped hot dog in half, then transfer them to the baking sheet.
  3. Brush each wrapped hot dog with egg wash and sprinkle poppy seeds on top. Bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Serve immediately with mustard, if desired.

Notes

  • Recipe Source: Country Living
  • Use good-quality sausages or hot dogs. You can select your favorite type, whether it's pork, beef, or a vegetarian alternative. In terms of size, mini hot dogs for snack-sized or the regular-sized hot dog for a larger portion.
  • Brushing the pastry with an egg wash before baking will give it a beautiful golden color and a slightly glossy finish.
  • When wrapping the sausages, make sure the pastry is sealed tightly to prevent the sausages from popping out during baking.
