Pimm's Cup

Pimm's Cup combines Pimm's No. 1 liqueur with fresh, bite-sized fruit pieces like nectarines, apples, grapes, strawberries, and optional cucumber slices. After steeping the fruit in Pimm's, dry white wine and lemon-lime soda add effervescence and lightness. This creates a refreshing, mildly fruity punch with a balanced sweetness and complexity from the herbal liqueur, ideal for a chilled summer beverage.

Description

The Pimm's Cup recipe features Pimm's No. 1 cup liqueur infused with a mixture of diced nectarines, apples, grapes, strawberries, and cucumber slices, which are optional but add crispness. The fruit macerates in the liqueur for a few hours to combine flavors. Chilled dry white wine and lemon-lime soda are then added to lighten the punch and provide sparkle. The resulting drink has a mildly sweet and fruity character with herbal notes from the Pimm's and a refreshing balance perfect for warm weather occasions.

Steeping the ingredients in advance deepens flavor melding between the fruit and liqueur. Serving in tall glasses with the fruit provides pleasant texture and visual appeal. This punch suits casual gatherings where a light, fruity cocktail is desired.

The variety and amount of fruit can be adjusted according to personal preference or availability. Using fresh seasonal fruit helps elevate the flavor profile further and offers some customization to suit taste.
