Pomegranate Champagne Punch
Description
Pomegranate Champagne Punch is a sparkling drink featuring key ingredients like champagne or Prosecco mixed with pomegranate juice and triple sec, enhanced by the fresh acidity of orange juice. Optional club soda adds a subtle fizz and dilutes the sweetness slightly. The drink is prepared by gently combining chilled champagne with the juices and liqueur, then stirring in whole cranberries and orange juice for an added burst of flavor and garnish potential.
The punch offers a crisp and slightly tart flavor with fruity and citrus notes balanced by the spirit's dryness. The champagne bubbles provide a light texture, while the fresh cranberries offer a seasonal aesthetic and mild tartness. Served over ice and garnished with fresh mint, this punch is suited for festive occasions and can be prepared in advance.
A notable aspect is the use of fresh cranberries instead of pomegranate seeds, as seeds do not float well, enhancing both presentation and texture. The recipe suggests the option to freeze champagne in ice cube trays to chill the punch without diluting it, allowing for controlled cooling and concentration preservation.
Ingredients
- 1 bottle champagne or Prosecco
- 2 ½ cups pomegranate juice sub Cranberry juice
- 8 oz club soda plain or pomegranate flavored, optional
- ½ cup triple sec
- 1 orange juiced
For garnish (optional)
- ½ cup cranberries
- Orange slices
- mint leaves
Instructions
- Pour CHILLED champagne into a pitcher. Add pomegranate juice, club soda and triple sec. Stir with a wooden spoon.
- Add the juice of an orange and fresh cranberries. Stir again.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves when serving. Note: Pomegranate seeds do not float. That’s why I used fresh cranberries instead. However, you’re more than welcome to add them.
- Serve over ice. Cheers!
Notes
- Freeze champagne in ice cube trays to chill the punch without watering it down.
- Use fresh cranberries as garnish since pomegranate seeds tend not to float well in the punch.
