Pretzel Cookies

Pretzel Cookies combine buttery dough with light brown and granulated sugars, studded with chocolate chips and broken pretzels. Baking these cookies results in a sweet and salty contrast with a soft, chewy texture complemented by crunchy pretzel bits and melty chocolate.

Description

Pretzel Cookies start by creaming room temperature butter with sugars until fluffy, then incorporating eggs and vanilla for moisture and flavor. The dry ingredients include all-purpose flour, baking soda, and kosher salt. The dough is mixed until just combined to maintain a tender crumb. Chocolate chips and broken pretzels are folded in, providing bursts of sweetness and salty crunch throughout.

Portioning the dough into balls and spacing them on a parchment-lined baking sheet allows for even baking. Baking at 350°F until just golden preserves softness with lightly crisp edges. Cooling on the baking sheet briefly before transferring to a rack lets the cookies set properly.
