Pumpkin Sangria

Pumpkin Sangria combines sliced apples and pears with a cinnamon stick, Pinot Grigio, Prosecco, sparkling apple cider, and club soda, all sweetened with homemade pumpkin pie syrup. The syrup is made by simmering sugar, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla to create a rich and spiced base. This sangria offers a seasonal, fruity, and gently sparkling beverage with autumnal flavors suitable for chilled serving.

Description

This Pumpkin Sangria recipe blends fresh autumn fruits like apples and pears with white Pinot Grigio and sparkling Prosecco to provide effervescence. The addition of sparkling apple cider contributes sweetness and fruitiness, balanced by club soda for lightness. The integration of homemade pumpkin pie syrup enriches the sangria with characteristic pumpkin, spice, and vanilla notes.

The syrup preparation involves simmering sugar, pumpkin puree, and pumpkin pie spice until sugar dissolves, followed by cooling and straining to achieve a smooth, thick consistency. This syrup infuses the sangria with warm, spiced sweetness without overpowering the wine base. The fruits add freshness and texture to the drink.

Chilling the mixture for at least 30 minutes before serving allows flavors to meld and the sangria to become refreshing. This drink suits autumn and holiday gatherings where a lightly spiced, sparkling beverage complements seasonal menus.

This can be kept in a sealed container in the fridge for a week or so!
