Quick Jelly Donut Recipe

This Quick Jelly Donut recipe transforms refrigerated biscuit dough into fried, jelly-filled treats with a soft interior and a lightly crisp exterior. Shaped into small balls and browned in oil, these donuts are filled using a jelly injector or spoon, then dusted with powdered sugar for a sweet finish. The method offers an easy way to enjoy homemade-style jelly donuts without a yeast dough or lengthy proofing, making it practical for a quick dessert or snack.

Description

The Quick Jelly Donut Recipe starts with canned biscuit dough, which is portioned into small balls and fried until golden brown on each side. Once fried, the donuts have a tender, fluffy texture inside contrasted by a thin, crisp outer layer from frying. After cooling slightly, each donut is filled with jelly through a small hole, allowing the sweet filling to complement the neutral biscuit base. The finishing touch of powdered sugar adds a subtle sweetness and a classic donut appearance.

This recipe relies on straightforward frying and filling steps, making it accessible for cooks without specialized equipment aside from a jelly injector or a spoon. The fried biscuits hold their shape well and cook quickly, suitable for a casual treat. The jelly flavor can be customized, adding variety to the snack.

The recipe serves as a quick alternative to traditional yeast-raised jelly donuts, ideal for occasions that call for a fast sweet bite or to use on-demand refrigerated biscuit dough. The donuts are best enjoyed fresh to maintain their soft interior and crisp edges.
