Raspberry Lemonade
Description
This Raspberry Lemonade starts by making a simple syrup with sugar dissolved in water, which is then cooled. Fresh raspberries are pureed and strained through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds, resulting in a smooth raspberry component. The syrup, raspberry puree, and fresh lemon juice are combined in a pitcher. Cold water is added to dilute and balance flavors depending on individual preference for sweetness and tartness.
The resulting lemonade offers a bright, fruit-forward taste with the natural tang of lemon complemented by the berry's sweetness. It can be served over ice and garnished with whole raspberries if desired, making it a cooling beverage for warm days.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup of water
- ¾ cup raspberry pureed and pushed through a fine mesh sieve; plus more whole berries for garnish if desired
- 1 cup lemon juice about 8 lemons, fresh
- 4-6 cups water this will vary depending on your taste, cold
Instructions
- Make a simple syrup by combining the sugar with 1 cup of water in a saucepan. Place over medium heat and heat until the sugar in completely dissolved; swirl the pan occasionally. Let cool.
- Measure 3/4 cup of fresh raspberries and puree them in your blender or food processor.
- Push the raspberry puree through a fine mesh sieve to separate the seeds from the pulp.
- Once the simple syrup has cooled, combine the raspberry puree, simple syrup and lemon juice in a large pitcher.
