Ingredients
- 9 cups Chex cereal
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup butter unsalted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup M & M candies red and blue
Instructions
- In a microwave safe bowl, add the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Heat in increments of 30 seconds until melted. Stir well and add in the vanilla extract.
- In a large bowl, add the Chex cereal and pour the chocolate peanut butter mixture over cereal. Carefully toss cereal to coat thoroughly. Use a rubber spatula to avoid not crushing and breaking cereal pieces.
- Divide the powdered sugar into two gallon storage bags.
- Place half the coated Chex cereal into each bag of powdered sugar and toss to coat.
- Spread coated cereal onto a parchment lined baking sheet to set for about 30 minutes.
- Before serving, place puppy chow into a bowl and add in the M & M's as well as any additional candy/toppings desired.
