Instructions

For the Cupcakes

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 12-count cupcake tin with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, milk, oil, and eggs together.
  3. Fill each cupcake well ¾ of the way full and bake the cupcakes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 15 minutes.
  4. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting them.

For the Frosting

  1. Using a stand or hand mixer, cream the butter on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes.
  2. On low speed, add the powdered sugar a few tablespoons at a time.
  3. Once all of the powdered sugar has been added, turn the mixer to high speed and beat until the icing is light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  4. If it is too thick/crumbly, add in the milk and beat until well combined.
  5. Once the icing is light and fluffy, fold in the peanut butter. Transfer the icing to a piping bag fitted with your choice of tip (I used a Wilton 2D).
  6. Frost the cupcakes as desired and enjoy.
