Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer, fitted with the paddle attachment, combine brownie mix, flour, oil, 2 eggs, and water, mix until well combined.
  3. Using a cookie scoop, scoop dough onto a prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 8 minutes, do not overbake these cookies, allow the cookies to rest on the baking sheet for about 2 minutes.
  5. Carefully remove and place on a wire cooling rack. Allow cookies to cool completely before frosting.
  6. Frost cookies with approximately 1 tablespoon of frosting (adjust to liking).
  7. Place two pretzels at the top of the cookie for antlers. Add red M&M for the nose then place 2 candy eyeballs between the nose and the antlers.

Notes

  • It is important not to stack finished cookies or the decorations and frosting will get smushed. So store them in a single layer. You can use shallow airtight containers or even a 9×13″ baking pans covered with plastic wrap.
  • Store the chocolate reindeer cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about a day. They may last a little longer, but the texture and decorations will be best when enjoyed within 24 hours.
  • I do not recommend refrigerating or freezing these cookies because the antlers will become soggy and the nose might "bleed".
