Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325° F. Trim and dry the turkey well with paper towls.
- To a bowl add the melted butter and the thyme, rosemary, oregano, garlic powder and onion powder. Mix until the butter and spices are well combined.
- Cover both sides of the turkey tenderloins generously with the butter mixture and a silicone brush.
- In an oven proof skillet or cast iron pan, add the oil and heat over medium heat. See notes if you don't have an oven-proof skillet.
- Add the tenderloins to the skillet. Cook for 2-4 minutes on the stovetop on each side to sear the meat until golden brown.
- Move the skillet into the heated oven. Bake the turkey for 50 to 60 minutes or until the meat reaches an internal temperature of 165° F when checked with a meat thermometer.
- After removing the turkey from the oven, allow it to rest on the pan or on a cutting board for 10 minutes so it stays juicy. Slice the turkey, then serve and enjoy.
Notes
- I've used a cast iron skillet in this recipe but you can use any oven proof skillet that can be heated to 325 degrees.
- If your skillet isn't oven proof simply transfer the meat to a metal roasting pan, ceramic casserole pan, or a baking sheet. Spray the pan generously with pan spray before transferring the turkey to the pan Pick a pan with a rim so any turkey juices don't spill in the oven.
- If you prefer, you can use a poultry seasoning blend instead of the listed seasoning. Use four teaspoons of poultry seasoning combined with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper.
- Turkey tenderloin is a piece of the turkey breast but is always boneless. Turkey breast can come on the bone, or is sometimes marketed as "boneless turkey breast." You can use a boneless turkey breast swapped in for turkey tenderloin in this recipe.
