Salpicón
Description
Salpicón involves dicing an assortment of fresh fruits—like green and macintosh apples, strawberries, watermelon, banana, papaya, oranges, pineapple, grapes, and kiwi—into uniform half-inch pieces. These fruits are kept chilled separately before being combined with a carbonated beverage like Sprite Zero or diet champagne kola to create a fizzy, fruit-forward punch.
The sparkling soda adds effervescence that balances the sweetness and natural juices of the fruits. The diced fruits give varied textures, from the firm crunch of apples and grapes to the softness of banana and papaya. The drink is served cold, often with a spoon to enjoy the fruit chunks along with the liquid.
Salpicón is a refreshing option for warm weather or as a festive non-alcoholic beverage. It offers a visually appealing, colorful presentation with diverse flavors and textures in each serving.
