Ingredients

Servings
  • 2.5 cups Bisquick Mix
  • 1 pound pork sausage mild or hot
  • 16 ounces cheddar cheese shredded
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
  • ¼ cup milk optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or light grease with oil
  3. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well with hand.
  4. Scoop approximately 1 ¼ - 1 ½ tablespoon of mixture and roll into balls. Dough will be thick. If it's too crumbly, add the ¼ cup of milk.
  5. Place them on the baking sheet about 1 inch apart
  6. Bake for 20 minutes or until they turn lightly brown.

Notes

  • Be careful when measuring the Bisquick. To avoid using too much it is best to spoon it into a measuring cup and then scrape off excess with the back of a knife. (or use a kitchen scale to measuring most accurately)
  • Add up to ¼ cup of milk if the dough is too crumbly.
  • Jimmy Dean Sausage is my favorite to use.
  • If you use hot sausage, you can not use the additional cayenne if desired.
  • Use a stand mixer at low speed to mix ingredients if desired.
  • The dough will be slightly crumbly. When making into balls you will need to press the ingredients slightly.
  • Shredding your own cheese is a better option than pre-packaged shredded cheese. If the balls are more dry, this is usually why.
