Notes
- Substitutions
- Shrimp - You can substitute size of shrimp, shell on, shell off, precooked, fresh or raw. All of those are fine. Just understand that the shrimp is done when it turns bright pink and begins to curl. The cooking times may be somewhat different for a different size or a different pre cooking preparation.
- Spices - Its fine to substitute other spices. Try new things and see what flavors you like on your shrimp! The basics to remember are add some salt, acid and heat.
- Butter - Substitute the same amount of olive oil, vegetable oil or other oil of your choice.
- We recommend using the large shrimp if this is your first time cooking shrimp this way as they are larger and easier to control through cooking.
- If you are using the smaller shrimp or the higher temps, be sure to check frequently to see if the shrimp are done. Do NOT overcook or your shrimp will be rubbery.
- Be sure to toss the shrimp well in the butter mixture before spreading onto the pan and then spread them evenly across the pan to bake so that the heat can circulate between the shrimp on the pan.
- Do NOT crowd the pan or your shrimp will essentially steam rather than bake.
