Smokey Maple Roasted Chickpeas - ActiFry Recipe
Description
This recipe uses canned chickpeas which are thoroughly dried then roasted in an ActiFry for even crispness. The seasoning blend features smoked paprika and onion granules for warmth and depth, along with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. Sesame oil carries the flavors and aids in crisping.
The maple syrup is added near the end of cooking to caramelize lightly and impart a gentle sweetness that contrasts the smoky and savory spices. The chickpeas are shaken periodically during cooking to ensure even roasting.
The method notes that cooking times are based on a specific ActiFry model and emphasizes the importance of shaking to prevent chickpeas from clumping and to achieve uniform texture. The final snack is best served after a cooling period to maintain crispness and can be finished cooking longer as needed for preferred crunch.
