Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and M&M candies.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden, but the centers are still soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a chewier texture, make sure to not overbake the cookies. Remove them from the oven when they’re just starting to turn golden around the edges.
- You can use any color of M&M's, or mix in seasonal colors for holidays (e.g., red and green for Christmas).
- If you prefer a slightly less sweet version, reduce the amount of M&Ms or chocolate chips.
- These cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
- For a thicker cookie, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
