Superfoods Green Lemonade Smoothie
Description
The Superfoods Green Lemonade Smoothie uses a variety of fresh and frozen fruits, greens, and superfood powders blended into a smooth, rich drink. Frozen banana and pineapple provide natural sweetness and a creamy, slushie-like texture, balanced by the tartness of lime juice and the mild spice of ginger. Fresh spinach adds a leafy green component rounding out the flavor profile.
Baobab, moringa, and spirulina powders contribute antioxidants and micronutrients while maintaining a drinkable blend. Coconut water and milk, or alternatives like rice, oat, or hemp milk, provide liquid and creaminess. The smoothie is vibrant and refreshing with a herbal undertone.
Serve immediately for best texture and flavor. Leftovers can be frozen into popsicles or ice cubes to be blended later with added liquids. Adjusting the proportions allows personal balance of sweetness, tartness, and thickness.
Ingredients
- 1 small banana frozen, ripe
- 2 ½ cups pineapple frozen
- 1 inch ginger peeling optional, knob
- 1 medium lime ~3 Tbsp or 45 ml as recipe is written, or lemon, juiced
- 1 small handful spinach fresh
- 3/4 cup coconut water (or sub filtered water)
- 1/2 cup coconut milk boxed is best // or sub other dairy-free milk, such as rice, oat, or hemp, light
- 1 tsp baobab powder
- 1 tsp moringa powder
- 1 tsp spirulina , chlorella, or barley grass juice powder
- 1 Tbsp hemp seed optional
- 1/2 - 1 cup water to thin or help blend
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until completely smooth. Add more water as needed to encourage blending. It should be a mix of creamy and slightly slushie, pourable but not watery.
- Taste and adjust flavors as needed, adding more coconut milk for creaminess, pineapple or banana to thicken, lime or lemon for tartness, or ginger for zing.
- Enjoy as is, or garnish with additional hemp seeds and a pineapple wedge (optional).
- Best when fresh. If you have leftovers, freeze into popsicles or ice cube molds. When ready to use, simply blend the smoothie ice cubes in your blender with more coconut water and coconut milk.
Notes
- Nutrition estimates are approximate and depend on ingredient brands and specific product fortification.
- Use frozen fruit for a creamy, chilled texture and thicker consistency.
- Adjust water or coconut milk quantities to reach desired smoothness and thickness.
- Freeze leftover smoothie in ice cube trays or molds for later blending into fresh drinks or popsicles.
