Thai Bubble Tea

Thai Bubble Tea combines tapioca pearls soaked in a brown sugar syrup with brewed Thai tea and creamy dairy or non-dairy milk. The chewy boba pearls offer sweet contrast to the strong, spiced tea flavor. This chilled drink balances textures and sweetness, delivering a refreshing beverage with classic Thai flavors.

Description

This Thai Bubble Tea recipe starts by cooking tapioca pearls, then simmering them in a muscovado sugar syrup until thickened to create sweet, chewy brown sugar boba. The tea component is prepared by steeping ground Thai tea mix in boiling water for at least 30 minutes to extract its robust spiced flavor, then cooling it.

To assemble, the brown sugar pearls and syrup are placed in a glass, topped with Thai tea and half-and-half or a milk substitute, mixing into a balanced, creamy, and sweet drink. The tapioca pearls provide a chewy texture while the tea offers floral and spice notes typical of Thai iced tea.

This drink is served cold, and stirring allows the flavors to mingle. It provides a flavorful bubble tea variation with intense tea flavor and the distinct sweetness of brown sugar pearls.
