Ingredients
- 4 ounces fresh turmeric root washed and peeled (about ½ cup), or 1 teaspoon of organic turmeric powder (Alternatively, you may replace it with ½ this amount of fresh ginger root to make ginger turmeric shots).
- 4 ounces carrots about ¾ cup
- 2 navel oranges either squeezed or use the whole pulp
- 4 fresh lemons squeezed (or limes)
- ¾ coconut water or regular water
- 1 tablespoon raw honey stevia in the raw if you are diabetic, or pure maple syrup for a vegan recipe. I prefer honey because it is a natural prebiotic!
- a pinch of ground black pepper "Research supports that combining the piperine in black pepper with the curcumin in turmeric enhances the absorption of curcumin by up to 2,000%" according to this source.
