Whiskey sour is an American drink containing whiskey (often bourbon), lemon juice, sugar, and optionally a dash of egg white.

Ingredients
- 2 oz. whiskey (or bourbon)
- 1 oz. lemon juice , freshly squeezed
- ½ oz. cane sugar syrup
- ½ egg white , optional
- Ice cubes
- 1 maraschino cherry , for garnish
- lemon peel , for garnish
- A few drops of Angostura , for garnish
Equipment
- shaker
- Cocktail strainer
- Old-fashioned glass
Instructions
- In a shaker, pour the whiskey, lemon juice, syrup, egg white and shake for 20 seconds.
- Add ice cubes and shake again for 20 seconds.
- Place the strainer on the shaker, then pour the content into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice cubes. Discard the ice cubes from the shaker.
- Garnish with 3 or 4 drops of Angostura bitters.
- Decorate with a lemon peel and a maraschino cherry.
