Ingredients
- 4 cups (750 grams, 26 ounces) chopped fresh watermelon
- 6 cups (1.4 liters) cold water divided
- 3 tablespoons (38 grams) granulated sugar or to taste
- 1/4 cup (60 milliliters) fresh lime juice
For serving:
- ice
- Lime wedges
- watermelon wedges

Instructions
- Place the chopped watermelon in a blender with 2 cups (470 milliliters) of the water and 2 tablespoons (25 grams) of the sugar. Puree until smooth. Do this step in batches if needed.
- Strain the watermelon puree through a fine mesh sieve, using the back of a spoon to help push the liquid through if needed. Transfer to a large pitcher.
- Add the lime juice and remaining 4 cups (1 liter) water. Stir to combine and add an additional tablespoon of sugar or more to taste.
- Serve immediately with ice or chill in the refrigerator. Mix and add ice immediately before serving.
