Ingredients
- 1 ⅓ cup self-rising flour *substitution in notes
- 1 cup plain greek yogurt
- 1 egg white
- 1 tablespoon water
- Bagel toppings
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl combine self-rising flour and yogurt with a fork until it comes together.
- Start to knead the dough until it really comes together and becomes less sticky, you might need to add a little more flour to help with the stickiness.
- Put the mixture on a lightly floured surface. Form into a round, and divide into three or four pieces of dough. You can make 4 smaller bagels or 3 bakery sized bagels.
- Roll each piece into a log shape about 4-6 inches long. Join the ends to make a bagel shape.
- Place a parchment square or silicone baking mat into the bottom of your air fryer.
- Place the bagels into your air fryer basket and do not let them touch. You will be able to fit 2-4 at a time, depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Combine the egg white with water in a small bowl.
- Brush the top of each with the egg wash and sprinkle with your chosen bagel topping.
- Air fry at 350 for 8-10 minutes, until the bagels are brown and puffy.
Notes
- If you don't have self rising flour, mix 2 teaspoons baking powder and ¼ teaspoon of salt into the flour before adding it to the yogurt.
- These bagels only have 2 ingredients so are easy to work with. If the dough is too sticky work in more flour, too dry you can add in a little more yogurt.
- You can flavor these bagels by flavoring the dough. You could add cinnamon and raisins for sweetness or garlic salt for savory. You will get the best results if you stick to plain yogurt though.
- Don't overcrowd your air fryer, make sure the bagels aren't touching and have room to expand.
- Sometimes the bagels expand and end up with no middle hole. If that bothers you, you can punch out a hole after baking.
