Air Fryer Jacket Potato

Report
The Air Fryer Jacket Potato recipe cooks medium-sized potatoes with olive oil and simple seasoning to produce crispy-skinned potatoes with soft interiors. Piercing the skins prevents bursting, and turning during cooking ensures even crispness. This method offers an effective alternative to traditional oven baking.

Description

Air Fryer Jacket Potato involves washing and drying medium-sized potatoes, then poking holes in their skins to prevent bursting during cooking. The potatoes are rubbed with olive oil, seasoned with salt and pepper, then placed spaced apart in the air fryer basket. Cooking at 200°C (400°F) for about 40 minutes, turning halfway through, results in crispy skins and fluffy interiors.

The air fryer provides a concentrated heat environment that crisps the skin while roasting the inside potato flesh evenly. Pricking the potatoes avoids pressure buildup inside the potato. The turning step promotes uniform browning.

This recipe suits anyone wanting baked potatoes with less oven use and faster cooking. The jacket potatoes can be split open and served with toppings or as a side. Adjusting cooking time and checking progress after 25 minutes is recommended due to variation among air fryers.

Optional methods include microwaving first to reduce air fryer time or wrapping potatoes in foil for softer skins. The instructions include tips for cutting the cooked potatoes to open them for serving.
