Ingredients
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups ice
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Instructions
- Remove eggs from refrigerator approximately 30 minutes before needed so they come to room temperature and will cook evenly.
- Preheat air fryer at 270ºF for 2 minutes.
- Carefully place eggs in air fryer basket so they are not touching.
- Air fryer for 10 minutes.
- While eggs are air frying, place water and ice in a large bowl.
- Once your air fryer indicates that the eggs are done, it’s crucial to move quickly to ensure the ideal texture of firm whites and a runny yolk is achieved. When eggs are done, transfer them immediately to ice water.
- Allow eggs to cool for 2 minutes.
- Peel, add salt and pepper, and enjoy!
Notes
- Preheat the Air Fryer. Always preheat your air fryer for best results and to ensure proper cooking.
- Move Quickly. The eggs need to removed immediately from the hot air fryer and into a ice water bath.
- Avoid Cooking Too Many Eggs. Do not overcrowd the basket with eggs. Leaving space between the eggs allows for air circulation and more even cooking. Cook your eggs in batches when necessary to achieve consistent results.
- Try a Test Run: All air fryers work a little differently so I suggest doing a little testing to ensure the exact cooking time. Cut it open after cooking to check for doneness and adjust your cooking time accordingly.
- Prefer Hard Boiled Eggs? Cook for 15 minutes instead!
