Ingredients

  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs at room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons milk of choice
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

For the frosting

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk of choice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line the bottom of a 9-inch cake pan with parchment paper, spraying the sides with cooking spray or oil.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add in the eggs, milk, and vanilla and whisk until combined.
  4. Transfer to the pan and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 40 minutes. Place the pan on a wire rack and let the cake cool in the pan completely.
  5. Once the cake is cooled, beat the butter in a large bowl using an electric hand mixer until fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add the remaining frosting ingredients and beat until well combined.
  7. Spread on top of the cake.
  8. DEVOUR!
