Amla Chutney Recipe- Indian Gooseberry Chutney
Report
Amla Onion Chutney is a tangy and flavorful Indian dip made with raw and fresh Indian gooseberry, onion and garlic. Easy to make, this spicy green dip pairs well with snacks and meals.

Instructions
- Wash and deseed 3-4 raw amla, peel and chop 1 small onion, and sort a handful of cilantro or coriander leaves and wash them in a colander. Peel 2 garlic cloves and wash green chili.
- Place the chopped amla, onion, cilantro, garlic, and green chili into a blender. Add the salt and red chili powder. Blend all the ingredients until you get a smooth chutney. If needed, add a little water.
- Taste the chutney and adjust the salt or chili powder if needed. Blend briefly again to mix well.
- Transfer the chutney to a serving bowl. Serve the fresh Green Amla Chutney with your favorite snacks or meals.
Notes
- Add water slowly to avoid making the chutney too runny. The consistency should be thick enough to scoop but smooth enough to spread.
- Amla are sour and tangy in taste and I recommend not adding any lemon juice or raw mango as that would add more to the tangy flavor.
