Argentinian Salsa Criolla

Argentinian Salsa Criolla is one of those typical Argentinian accompaniments that, along with the chimichurri, can not miss accompanying a good barbecue. The preparation is effortless since it has very few ingredients: onion, red and green pepper, plenty of oil, and a little vinegar. It can be seasoned to taste with oregano, salt, and pepper, as I did, although some add a little cumin. Give it a try!😋

Notes

  • How to Store
  • To store Argentinian Salsa Criolla, transfer it to an airtight container and refrigerate it. It will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Let it come to room temperature before serving.
  • Make-Ahead
  • Make the salsa according to the recipe instructions. Transfer the salsa to an airtight container and refrigerate it for up to 3 days. Before serving, take the salsa from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature. Give the salsa a good stir and adjust the seasoning as needed. Serve the salsa at room temperature with your favorite dish. Making the salsa ahead of time saves you time and allows the flavors to develop and intensify, resulting in a more flavorful and delicious salsa.
  • How to Freeze
  • Freezing salsa criolla is not recommended as it can alter the texture and flavors of the fresh vegetables. Salsa criolla is best enjoyed when it's freshly made. However, if you have leftovers that you'd like to store, it's best to refrigerate them in an airtight container for up to a 3 days. This will help maintain the flavors and textures of the salsa.
