Avocado Burger

For the Burgers

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 beef patties fresh or frozen

For the Mashed Avocado

  • 2 avocados diced
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the Assembly

  • 4 Brioche buns
  • 4 lices cheddar cheese
  • 4-8 lettuce leaves
  • ½ red onion thinly sliced
  • 4-8 lices cooked bacon
  • ketchup, bbq sauce, mustard, or mayo

Instructions

  1. In a cast iron skillet with some olive oil on it, add 4 burger patties. Cook them for around 4 to 6 minutes per side, depending on the thickness and size of your burgers. Add an extra minute if they were frozen. Set aside.
  2. Add 1 slice of cheese to each burger and melt, cover with a skillet lid and melt cheese for 1-2 minutes. Set aside the patties.
  3. In a bowl, mash together the avocado, lemon juice, garlic powder, and salt.
  4. Assemble the burgers by spreading your sauce of choice on the bottom bun, then place the lettuce, burger patties, onions, bacon, and spoon the mashed avocado on top. Finish with the top bun.

Notes

  • To cook the patties on the grill, place the burger patties on the grill and cook, uncovered, for 3 to 5 minutes a side, depending on the thickness of the patties.
