Batida de Coco - Brazilian Coconut Cocktail
Description
Batida de Coco is a traditional Brazilian cocktail featuring a mix of coconut milk, sweetened condensed milk, coconut water, and cachaça, a Brazilian rum. The ingredients are blended until frothy, creating a smooth, creamy texture with a pronounced coconut flavor layered with the sweetness of condensed milk and the distinct vegetal notes of cachaça. Coconut water helps to lighten and balance the richness while adding hydration and a subtle natural sweetness.
The cocktail is served chilled over ice, often poured into glasses rimmed with toasted coconut and topped with more toasted coconut for garnish. This presentation adds a mild crunch and toasted flavor that complements the smoothness of the drink. The balance of rich creaminess and fresh coconut notes combined with the spirit makes it suitable as a refreshing tropical cocktail.
This drink works well as a party cocktail or a leisurely tropical refreshment. Adjusting the ratio of coconut water or liquor allows for control over sweetness and alcohol strength. The toasted coconut garnish adds both visual appeal and a complementary texture to the creamy beverage.
