Ingredients
Kitchen Gadgets:
- Air Fryer
- Air Fryer Foil
Air Fryer Turkey Crown Ingredients:
- 2.2 kg Stuffed Turkey Crown (Thawed)
- 2 Tsp mixed herbs
- salt & pepper
- extra virgin olive oil spray optional
Instructions
- Place your turkey crown breast side down in your air fryer basket. Spray the skin with extra virgin olive oil. Season all visible skin with salt, pepper, and half the mixed herbs. Air fry for 25 minutes at 180c/360f.
- When it beeps remove the turkey from the air fryer and put to one side. Layer your air fryer with silver foil and place the turkey crown back in the air fryer breast side up.
- Season the turkey breast skin with the last of the mixed herbs and more salt and pepper. If you would like a crispy skin also spray with extra virgin olive oil. Cook for a further 15 minutes at 180c/360f.
- Check to see if the turkey is cooked by slicing at the thickest part of the breast and checking that it is piping hot and not pink. If the turkey crown is still not cooked through, cook for a further 15 minutes at the same temperature breast side down again.
- When it beeps, carve, and serve.
Notes
- Stuffed. We used a stuffed turkey crown and when the turkey is stuffed it increases the cook time. If your turkey is not stuffed reduce the cook time by about 20 minutes.
- Size. We used a 2.2kg turkey crown and it just fitted in the Philips Air Fryer XL. If you have a smaller turkey, then I would aim for a total cook time of 45 minutes.
- Crown. If you are not familiar with a crown, it is British for a bone in turkey breast.
- Turning. It’s important that your turkey crown is turned and that you start breast side down first. This stops you having a dry turkey and stops the turkey from getting very brown on one side and then pale on the other.
- Seasoning. We used mixed herbs on our turkey crown. You can swap this for thyme, parsley, or Italian seasoning.
- Foil. If your turkey crown is not stuffed, you don’t need the foil. The foil is used to stop the turkey stuffing from escaping when it is breast side up. Or if you would like to add stuffing to your turkey use our air fryer stuffing balls recipe.
