Blackberry Fizz

The Blackberry Fizz is a sparkling cocktail blending Canada Dry Ginger Ale with vodka, enriched by fresh blackberry puree and garnished with rosemary sprigs threaded with blackberries. The drink combines the ginger ale's effervescence with fruity and herbal notes for a refreshing beverage. Crushed ice adds chill and texture, making it a visually appealing and flavorful choice for gatherings.

Description

The drink preparation starts with making blackberry skewers by threading fresh blackberries onto rosemary stems, which act as both garnish and aromatic influence. A mix of ginger ale and vodka forms the base, poured over crushed ice with a spoonful of blackberry puree at each glass bottom. The puree—made by blending blackberries with lime juice and corn syrup—adds sweetness and vibrant color while straining removes seeds for smoothness.

The crushed ice helps keep the drink cold and dilutes gradually, balancing the sweetness. Garnishing with lime slices complements the blackberry flavor and adds bright acidity. The rosemary sprigs threaded with blackberries enhance appearance and offer subtle herbal notes.

This cocktail is a visually attractive option for casual or festive occasions, delivering fruit-forward taste with ginger-spice undertones. The preparation includes steps for both the drink assembly and puree creation, giving control over fresh ingredients and sweetness.
