  • 1/3 cup blueberries I use frozen for extra coloring
  • 1 oz lime juice fresh
  • 4 ounces tequila
  • 1 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz Grand Marnier
  • ice
  • lime optional garnishes, lime sliced; blueberries fresh
  • blueberries optional garnishes, lime sliced; blueberries fresh
  • lime optional for sugar rimmed glasses, lime sliced
  • sugar optional for sugar rimmed glasses, lime sliced

Instructions

  1. Optionally, use lime slices to wet the rim of your glass and dip the glass into a bowl with a shallow amount of sugar to rim the glass with sugar.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, add your blueberries. Using a muddler, muddle the blueberries until you have freshly squeezed blueberry juice.
  3. Next, add your ice, tequila, Grand Marnier, simple syrup, and lime juice into the cocktail shaker that has your muddled blueberries.
  4. Cover and shake your cocktail shaker.
  5. Then, using a strainer, strain your shaker into your favorite glass.
  6. Finally, garnish with lime slices and fresh blueberries if preferred, and enjoy!

Notes

  • I use frozen blueberries in this recipe instead of fresh ones so that your drink has more of that pretty pink/purple color!
  • Blueberry Margaritas are best enjoyed fresh, but you can store the mixture in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Place it in a sealed container to maintain freshness.
  • Freezing the cocktail is possible; pour it into an airtight container, leaving some space for expansion, and freeze for up to a month. Thaw in the refrigerator when ready to serve.
