Ingredients
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 3 tblsp unsweetened cocoa powder -
- 3 tblsp butter + extra for rolling -
- Coating Options
- Sprinkles
- icing or powdered sugar -
- cocoa powder, unsweetened
- Crushed nuts
- smashed toffee bits
- crushed M&M's
Instructions
- Place the cocoa powder, butter and condensed milk in a saucepan and cook over medium heat.
- Stir regularly with a wooden spoon until mixture becomes very thick, fudgy, shiny and starts to come away from sides and bottom of the pan into a blob.
- Keep the mixture barely at a boil to prevent burning and sticking. Turn heat down to medium-low.
- This chocolate will cook for around 10 minutes total.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool.
- Add nuts at this point if you desire.
- Make sure chocolate is cool if you are adding toffee bits or M&M's so they do not melt.
- When cool, use a melon baller or teaspoon to scoop out batter.
- Then rub butter all over your hands and roll the mixture into walnut sized balls. I literally keep little pieces of butter on a plate beside where I am working so I can grab a piece and rub the butter on my hands to keep them greased at all times. This batter will stick to your fingers without it.
- Place choice of coating in shallow bowl or plate.
- Then roll each ball around in the sprinkles or whatever you have decided to coat them with.
- You may need to apply some pressure so the coating sticks.
- Eat immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
