Brownie Bread Pudding Recipe
Description
The Brownie Bread Pudding Recipe begins with cutting your choice of brownies into small cubes. These cubes are soaked in a custard made of milk, cream, eggs, brown sugar, salt, vanilla, and optionally almond extract. Semi-sweet chocolate chunks are folded into the custard along with the brownie pieces. After soaking for at least 30 minutes to absorb the custard, the mixture is baked in a buttered dish at 350°F (180°C).
The key to doneness is baking until the top feels slightly firm but the center still has a jiggle, preserving a creamy texture inside. This creates a dessert that combines the dense, chocolate flavor of brownies with the soft, custardy texture of bread pudding. It is best served warm, garnished with whipped cream or ice cream.
Leftovers store in the fridge for up to 3 days and can be reheated before serving. Using your favorite brownie recipe or a boxed mix works for the base, offering flexibility in flavor and texture.
