Rich, chewy butterscotch bars are made with Rice Krispies and topped with a layer of chocolate, with butterscotch "tiger stripes" drizzled across the top. The perfect easy sweet treat.

Ingredients
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup salted butter
- ¼ cup golden corn syrup
- ¾ cup butterscotch baking chips divided
- 2 cups rice crispy cereal
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon salted butter

Instructions
- Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan and set aside.
- In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring to dissolve the brown sugar into the mixture completely.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat, add 1/2 cup of the butterscotch chips, and stir until melted.
- Stir in the cereal until well-coated in the syrup mixture.
- Turn out the mixture into the prepared pan, and gently press down on the top to even out the mixture and form bars.
- Melt the chocolate chips in a microwaveable glass measuring cup in 30-second increments until smooth and melted completely. Spread evenly over the top of the bars.
- Place the butterscotch baking chips and butter in a microwaveable glass measuring cup and microwave for 20-second increments until smooth and melted completely. Watch carefully as the butterscotch chips can go grainy fast if overheated.
- Drizzle the butterscotch mixture over the top to make the tiger stripes. Cool on the counter. Slice and enjoy once the chocolate has hardened.
Notes
- These are best if not refrigerated.
