Caramel Apple Sangria
Description
Caramel Apple Sangria combines white wine with apple cider and caramel-flavored vodka, creating a drink infused with warm fall spices such as cinnamon and cloves. Thin apple slices soak in the liquid, contributing crisp fruit flavor as the sangria chills. The method involves mixing the liquid ingredients and spices, letting the flavors meld over several hours or overnight. Just before serving, club soda adds a refreshing sparkle, and glasses rimmed with caramel syrup and sanding sugar provide extra sweetness. This sangria offers a balanced blend of sweet, spiced, and fruity notes, making it a distinctive seasonal beverage.
The flavor develops while chilling, allowing the spices and apples to infuse the alcohol and cider base. The cinnamon and clove add warmth without overpowering the caramel and apple components. Adding club soda shortly before serving creates a lively, lighter texture. The use of caramel vodka also deepens the caramel nuance in the drink.
This sangria works well as a festive fall or holiday drink, served chilled in glasses rimmed with caramel and sugar. It pairs nicely with desserts or light appetizers, adding a sweet, spiced beverage option to gatherings.
According to the notes, if you prefer star anise, it can be added but will intensify over time. Alternate fall fruits like pomegranate arils, blood orange slices, or cranberries can also be incorporated to vary the flavors.
