Cast Iron Skillet Banana Bread
Description
Cast Iron Skillet Banana Bread uses mashed bananas combined with sugar, neutral oil, sour cream, eggs, baking soda, flour, and optional nuts to craft a sweet and soft quick bread. The batter is mixed until just combined to ensure the bread remains tender and moist throughout baking. Cooking in a cast iron skillet provides heat retention and even baking, producing a golden crust around the edges while keeping the center soft.
The loaf’s texture balances moistness from the bananas and sour cream with the slight nuttiness when nuts are included. Its straightforward method and simple ingredients make it adaptable for everyday baking. Slice after cooling slightly to enjoy a warm or room temperature treat, suitable for breakfast, snacks, or a mild dessert.
