Cherry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 6 cups bing cherries pitted
  • ½ cup water
  • sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp orange juice fresh
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine the pitted cherries, water, sugar, cornstarch, and orange juice & zest together in a saucepan over medium-high heat.
  2. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and cook, stirring often, for 15 minutes.
  3. Add the vanilla extract, if using.
  4. Cool slightly then serve over ice cream. Enjoy.
  5. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
