Christmas Hot Chocolate Recipe

Christmas Hot Chocolate blends unsweetened cocoa and sugar with whole milk and vanilla to create a warm, rich beverage. Optionally, festive liqueurs such as peppermint-flavored Kahlua or Bailey's can be added for adult versions. Toppings like Christmas marshmallows, sprinkles, crushed candy canes, or whipped cream add seasonal flair and texture.

Description

Starting with a base of cocoa powder and granulated sugar, this Christmas Hot Chocolate is prepared by dissolving the dry ingredients in a small amount of milk over medium heat. The rest of the milk and vanilla are then added and gently simmered, creating a smooth and creamy drink. The recipe yields four servings carefully portioned into mugs.

The drink can be spiked with liqueurs such as Peppermint Kahlua or Bailey's Irish Cream for a festive twist. Various seasonal toppings like themed marshmallows, red and green sprinkles, crushed candy canes, and whipped cream provide customizable sweetness and texture enhancements, fitting the holiday spirit.

For a richer texture, a note suggests substituting part of the milk with whipping cream, which intensifies the creaminess without altering the fundamental preparation.
