  • 500 g chestnuts (Maronen)
  • salt

Instructions

Prepare chestnuts for roasting

  1. Wash and soak the chestnuts for 30 minutes in a bolw filled with cold water.
  2. Drain them and cut it length- and crosswise.
  3. Preheat the oven to 250°C (480°F).
  4. Place them with a pot with cold, salty water and bring it to boil. Simmer for at least 10 minutes.
  5. Place the cooked and wet chestnuts on the baking tray covered with baking sheet.

Roasting

  1. Roast the chestnuts for 15 minutes.
  2. Take the baking tray out of the oven.
  3. Wet a small kitchen cloth and cover the chestnuts with it for 2 minutes to let them cool down a bit.
  4. Enjoy:)
