Creamy Dill Salmon
Description
The recipe begins by preparing a dressing combining fat-free Greek yogurt, freshly chopped dill, wholegrain mustard, lemon juice, and a pinch of ground black pepper. Salmon fillets are initially grilled for 10 minutes, then coated evenly with the yogurt mixture and returned to the grill for an additional 5 minutes to allow the sauce to warm and meld with the fish. This two-step grilling produces salmon that is cooked through while keeping moisture inside and adding the fresh creamy topping.
The flavor profile is mild yet tangy, with the mustard's slight pungency balanced by the cooling yogurt and herbal dill. Lemon juice brightens the sauce, making the dish feel fresh and suitable for a light meal. Cooking on the grill adds a subtle smoky note to the tender fish.
Variations include substituting crème fraîche for Greek yogurt, adding garlic cloves for a savory kick, or incorporating finely chopped shallots to the sauce for texture. The cooked salmon can be stored in the refrigerator and consumed within three days. It pairs well with simple sides such as steamed vegetables or a fresh salad.
