It’s almost dinner time, and your ground beef is still in the freezer. Before you can get cooking, the beef has to be completely defrosted. Raw meat has to be thawed safely, to prevent the growth of harmful bacteria. We’ll share with you 4 safe and easy ways to defrost frozen ground beef.

Instructions
- Method 1-Thaw the ground beef in the Refrigerator: Place the frozen meat in the fridge overnight or until it’s completely thawed.
- Method 2-Thaw it in the microwave: Remove the packaging, and then place the frozen ground beef onto a microwave-safe plate. Microwave it at 50% power for 2-3 minutes or until its fully thawed, flipping every 30 seconds.
- Method 3- Defrost in the cold water: Place the meat in a watertight plastic bag and fully submerge it in a bowl of cold water. Change the water every 30 minutes until the beef is completely thawed.
- Method 4- Use sous vide to defrost ground beef: Fill a large pot with water and set the sous vide machine to a low temperature of around 35°F. Vacuum seal the frozen ground beef and place it in the water bath. Allow the cool water to gradually and safely defrost the meat. It will take about 1 hour.
