The dirty martini, a variant of the dry martini, takes its name from the olive brine that gives it a greenish and cloudy appearance.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. dry gin
  • ¼ oz. vermouth
  • oz. brine of green olives
  • Green olives stuffed with red pepper , to garnish
  • lemon peel , to garnish
  • 5 Ice cubes

Equipment

  • shaker
  • Cocktail strainer
  • Martini glass

Instructions

  1. Add the ice cubes to a shaker.
  2. Pour over the dry gin, vermouth and olive brine.
  3. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds.
  4. Place the strainer on the shaker, then pour the content into the martini glass (discard the ice cubes).
  5. Finish by adding the garnishes (lemon peel and olives)
