Instructions

  1. Prepare a piping bag and have serving dishes ready.
  2. Place the frozen pineapple, coconut milk, pineapple juice, powder sugar, coconut extract and salt in the blender and blend until smooth and no lumps remain.
  3. Immediately after blending, scoop the dole whip into a piping bag and pipe in a circular motion into the serving dishes. If desired, place the piped dole whips in the freezer for 15-20 minutes to allow it to set and hold its shape before serving.

Notes

  • vanilla ice cream
  • How to store Dole Whip? Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months.Remove from the freezer and allow to sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes before serving.
  • Substitutions and add in’s: Substitute coconut milk for dairy milk, half and half, or heavy cream.Substitute powder sugar for granulated sugar, pure maple syrup, honey, or a sugar alternative.Substitute coconut extract for any flavor of your choice.Add vanilla ice cream.Add frozen mangos, strawberries, raspberries, or cherries.
  • Ways to serve Dole Whip: Serve on top of pineapple upside down cake.Serve with pineapple or orange juice to make a dole whip float.Serve in an ice cream cone.Top with fresh fruit, toasted coconut, sprinkles, nuts, or granola.
  • Notes This can melt fast! I recommend having everything ready before blending. If the dole whip begins to melt before the piping bag, you can put it in the freezer for 15-20 minutes to allow it to firm up slightly before piping.
