Easy Apple Dumplings
Description
Easy Apple Dumplings are prepared by wrapping each thinly sliced Granny Smith apple segment in a triangle of crescent roll dough. The dumplings are arranged in a baking dish, then topped with a mixture of melted unsalted butter, sugar, and vanilla extract, which soaks into the dough during baking. Ginger beer is poured around the edges to create a light, fizzy syrup. A dusting of apple pie spice blended with sugar adds aromatic warmth and enhances the apple flavor.
As the dumplings bake, the dough turns golden and slightly crisp while the apple slices inside soften and release their juices. The ginger beer infuses the dish with a subtle spice and bubbles up into a syrupy consistency, which collects in the pan for serving. The spiced sugar topping adds a crunchy, sweet finish.
These dumplings are best enjoyed warm, directly from the baking dish, spooned with the syrupy sauce. Any leftovers can be covered and refrigerated for up to three days. They make a comforting dessert that highlights simple ingredients and straightforward preparation.
