Ingredients
For the Filling
- 4 cups cherries fresh or frozen
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- ¼ cup white sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
For the Topping
- ½ cup white sugar
- ¾ cup flour all purpose
- ¾ cup oats old fashioned
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon cloves ground
- ½ cup butter 1 stick, cold

Instructions
For the Filling
- Preaheat the oven to 400ºF.
- Combine all of the filling ingredients in a large bowl, mix well.
- Pour into a greased 8x8 baking dish or a 12 inch cast iron skillet.
For the Topping
- Stir together all of the ingredients except the butter.
- Cut in the butter until the pieces are the size of rasins.
- Sprinkle it evenly over the top of the filling in the baking dish or skillet.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, until the edges are bubbly and the top is deep golden brown.
- Let cool before serving so it has time to thicken.
