Easy Gooey Butter Cake

Easy Gooey Butter Cake combines a dense, buttery cake base with a creamy, sweet cream cheese topping for a rich, moist dessert with a gooey center and lightly golden top. The batter layers bake together to form a luscious bar with a smooth, soft texture that makes this cake satisfying and indulgent.

Description

Easy Gooey Butter Cake begins with a cake mix combined with melted butter, eggs, and vanilla to create a moist batter that's pressed into a pan. A separate mixture of cream cheese, eggs, vanilla, and powdered sugar forms the gooey layer spread on top. Baking the two layers together produces a cake with a tender crumb and a sweet, custard-like topping that becomes golden as it bakes. The balance of textures highlights the richness of butter and cream cheese.

This cake is typically cut into bars for serving and can be dusted with powdered sugar. It is a comfort dessert suited for casual gatherings or afternoon treats. Because of its richness, smaller servings are often sufficient.

Storing the cake covered at room temperature helps maintain its moisture for up to three days. This cake does not require frosting or decoration to be enjoyable but can be customized if desired.
