Easy Hamburger Rice Casserole

Easy Hamburger Rice Casserole is a baked dish combining ground beef, uncooked rice, and canned soups into a hearty one-pan meal. Butter pats melted on top add richness, while baking covered and uncovered ensures tender, fully cooked rice with a flavorful base. Garnished with chives, it offers a simple, filling dinner.

Description

This casserole starts with sautéed ground beef browned and drained of grease, layered in a baking dish with uncooked long-grain white rice. French onion soup and beef consomme are added to provide moisture and savory flavor, mingling with the meat and rice during baking. Butter pats placed atop the mixture add richness and help create a tender texture.

The dish is covered with foil for the first 30 minutes of baking at 425°F, trapping steam to cook the rice through. Removing the foil for the final 30 minutes allows the top to brown slightly and any excess liquid to evaporate. The baked casserole features tender, flavorful rice interspersed with seasoned ground beef.

Once baked, the casserole is fluffed to separate the grains and garnished with chopped chives if desired. This straightforward casserole can be served as a main course for family dinners and offers convenience by cooking all components together in one dish.
