- ¾ cup granulated white sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice or 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh blueberries frozen blueberries work great!
- 1 tablespoon butter

- In a medium saucepan, whisk together the sugar and cornstarch. Add the water and bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Keep stirring and boil for about 3 minutes. Stir in the blueberries and reduce heat to low. Simmer for about 10 minutes or until the blueberries pop and the mixture thickens.
- Stir in the butter until melted, and the sauce is glossy.
