Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 yellow onion, diced
  • 2 oz cans tomato paste
  • 4 cups beef broth or stock
  • 1 tsp salt plus more to taste
  • 1 1/2 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp brown sugar lightly packed
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Chopped basil or parsley for garnish optional
  • Cooked spaghetti or pasta of your choice for serving

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef and onion in a large skillet. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in the beef broth, tomato paste, salt, parsley, brown sugar, oregano, basil, and garlic powder together.
  3. Bring mixture to a boil. Turn down heat and gently simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes.Serve over hot, cooked, and salted spaghetti or pasta of choice. Garnish with chopped parsley or basil (optional) before serving.
